The inaugural trailer for Robert Rodriguez and the El Rey network's forthcoming 'From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series' didn't inspire us with a great deal of confidence in its quality, but as we should have guessed from Rodriguez's work, the full vision needs a bit of cinematic flair. Enter the epic full-length trailer for the new vampire mythology series, chock full of all the blood, babes and badass action you could want out of 'From Dusk Till Dawn'!

The camera work still looks a bit low-tech for the series, based on Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 1996 film of the same name. Though if nothing else, we still get a much larger sense of what the El Rey drama will look like by its March 11 premiere. We also spied a much more intimidating glance at Wilmer Valderrama's vampiric character, and even a cameo for Big Kahuna Burger!

All told, here's how the official description of the 10-episode series reads:

Based on the thrill-ride film, “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” is a supernatural crime saga centered around bank robber, Seth Gecko (Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko (Holtz), who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Garcia) after a bank heist left several people dead.

While on an escape route to Mexico, Seth and Richie encounter former minister Jacob Fuller and his family who they take hostage.  Using the family RV to make a run for the Mexican border, chaos ensues when the group detours to a strip club that is unknowingly populated by vampires, and forces them to fight until dawn in order to get out alive.

The series deepens the tone of the film, adds new characters and backstories and expands the Mesoamerican mythology behind the vampires.

Included among the cast are D.J. Cotrona (‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation‘) stepping into George Clooney‘s role as Seth Gecko, Zane Holtz (‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’) as Richie Gecko, Jesse Garcia (‘Sons of Anarchy‘), Don Johnson (‘Django Unchained‘) as Sheriff Earl McGraw, Robert Patrick as Jacob Fuller, Madison Davenport (‘Save Me,’ ‘Shameless’) as Kate Fuller, Brandon Soo Hoo (‘Ender’s Game‘) as Scott Fuller, and Eiza González as Santánico Pandemonium.

Consider our faith somewhat restored. Check out 'From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series' in the full-length trailer above, and give us your thoughts on Robert Rodriguez's new vision of horror in the comments!
