In a terrifying story from outside the world of classic rock, four people were stabbed and 20 people arrested after a large scale fight took place outside a metal festival in Lakewood, Ohio on Saturday evening. A motive for the fight has yet to be determined.

The incident took place outside the Foundry on the second night of Firefest 2014, on an evening where bands such as Ringworm and Death Before Dishonor were scheduled to play. Around 7:15 p.m., police responded to reports of shots being fired. Witnesses reported seeing some men holding machetes and other weapons walking down the street, and said that as many as 50 people were involved in the melee.

Upon arriving on the scene at approximately 8:00 p.m. last night, 19 Action News noted that the area had been taped off and that several police officers were on the scene.

Three of the victims were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center while one was sent to Fairview Hospital and another to Lakewood Hospital. A nurse from Fairview Hospital told 19 Action News that the victims arrived with machete and stab wounds, but that none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

In a Facebook post from mid-day Sunday, the Foundry's general manager, Mark Witherspoon, said that the incident was not caused by the actions of the general show-going public, and that those involved were at the show explicitly to cause trouble. In his words, "Anyone who thinks this is scene related is an idiot...this was a CREW RELATED BEEF... This WAS NOT a product of the wonderful scene that we all represent and have built together!!"
