A trio of classic-rock giants will hit the road together this summer for a two-and-a-half-month tour that winds across the U.S. Foreigner, Styx and Don Felder will launch the 'Soundtrack of Summer' tour in mid May.

According to Billboard, Felder will open each show, with Foreigner and Styx alternating closing-set duties each night. "I look at it like we're a bunch of old heavyweight fighters getting together," Styx guitarist James "J.Y." Young told Billboard. "It's very exciting to be out there together, 30 years after we all had No. 1 albums and everything."

The 'Soundtrack of Summer' tour will kick off on May 16 in Oklahoma City; it ends on July 27 in Santa Barbara. In between, the show will play Houston, Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles. You can find all the tour dates below.

Foreigner and Styx toured together in 2010. "The two bands, although different, seem to complement each other," Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones told Billboard. "The audience enjoys both, I think, and with the addition of Don Felder, that's kind of an interesting evening's worth of music."

Felder, who co-wrote the Eagles' 'Hotel California' during his time with the band, joined his upcoming tourmates in the studio for a new version of that 1976 classic. The song will be included on a compilation album being released to promote the tour. Felder hinted that it may be a great opportunity to get all three artists onstage together this summer.

"It's a different take on the song, with different people singing different verses and guitar solos by me and then Tommy [Shaw] and Mick," " he told Billboard. "So who knows, we may wind up doing that in the show at the end of the night."

Tickets for the tour go on sale Feb. 7. You can find more info here.
