A flood warning remains in effect until 4:15 p.m. Monday for Erie, Northern Chautauqua, Wyoming, Southern Genesee and Northwestern Cattaraugus counties.

Temperatures in the lower 50s will slowly rise Sunday night reaching close to 60 by mid Monday in the Buffalo area.

While rainfall will generally be a third of an inch or less through Monday morning, the rate of snow melt will intensify with the rising temperatures. Significant melting of the water laden snow pack will lead to areas flooding, The National Weather Service reports.

Residents near creeks are encouraged to take precautions for possible flooding. Since many storm drains are clogged with snow and ice, areas may experience flooding of several feet, possibly accumulating on roads.

High winds are expected Monday night.
