With the Jan. 13 release of their Oczy Mlody album right around the corner, the Flaming Lips debuted a new song, "There Should Be Unicorns," at their Dec. 16 show in Oklahoma City.

The performance, which you can check out via the fan-shot footage embedded above, offers the latest in a series of sneak peeks at the new LP. The band released an official video for first single "The Castle" in October, and recent weeks have seen a slow rollout of songs from the Oczy Mlody track listing, with "How??" arriving in mid-November and "Sunrise (Eyes of the Young)" following just a few days ago.

The Oklahoma City gig served as a holiday treat for the band's hometown faithful before the start of their 2017 world tour, which is set to begin Jan. 21 in London and continue through late April. Since announcing their initial run of dates, the Flaming Lips have added a June 30 stop in Spain, where they're booked to perform at the Vida Festival as part of a bill that also includes Phoenix and Fleet Foxes.

Fans can look forward to hearing the studio version of "There Should Be Unicorns" in just a couple of weeks; in the meantime, listen in to its live debut and check out some fan-annotated lyrics, which seem to include the lines "Yeah there should be unicorns / The ones with the purple eyes not the green eyes / Yeah there should be day-glo strippers / Ones from the Amazon / Some edible butterflies."
