I will surely get way less tickets once this whole plan is rolled out. It's something that has been talked about for some time now, but coming this May will be an app you can download on your phone to extend your time at a meter.

Think: if you're in a meeting and you know your time at a meter is running out. Maybe you're eating lunch and the last thing you want to do is run out to put more quarters in.

The city has 3,900 parking spots that you have to pay the meter at and the app will work for all of them.  Of course though, nothing is ever free around here:

All the new convenience will come with a 10-cent credit card surcharge per transaction that will be paid to the company that provides the smartphone meter app", according to the Buffalo News.

Remember, rates for parking tickets went up last Summer, so don't get caught without having money at the meter or you'll certainly pay the price. Check out the ticket prices now, as of 2016 right here.
