What started out as a test, has turned in to stress for The National Weather Service and officials in New York.

Early on Tuesday morning an alert was sent via text message to phones that was supposed to be just a test alert about a tsunami approaching the east coast and New York. However, shortly after 9 am, The National Weather Service issued the following statement.

This comes just a few weeks after a bomb alert was unintentionally sent to residents in Hawaii. The alert was generated by human error and effectively cost a person their job.

Details are still being put together on what exactly transpired on both occasions. The good news is that the systems work and also they were both false alarms.
