Expect Higher Gas And Electric Bills This Winter

Now that cooler air is making its way into Western New York, you can expect to see an increase in your gas and electric bill this winter.

Earlier this year, National Grid and the New York Public Service Commission adopted a proposal that would see rates increase every year for three years.

The rate increase kicked off this April and customers will see another rate increase in April 2019, and April 2020.

That means, that this winter will be the first winter billing cycle since the 1st rate increase took place in April of this year.

On average, customers could see a $3-5 dollar increase per month during the rate increases.

These rate increases are only to National Grid as the provider, you could also see an increase in your bill based on your usage this winter as well.
