It has been a long winter season in Buffalo and Western New York and even though spring arrives this week, it's not over just yet! But we are not alone and are behind other cities in terms of snowfall.

Erie , Pennsylvania is on the verge of taking over Buffalo's record for snowfall in a season.

According to Metro Source News:

Buffalo's 199-point-four inches of snowfall in the winter of 1976-to-1977 is the snowiest season recorded for a U.S. city with at least 100-thousand residents. According to The Golden Snow Globe, the city of Erie, Pennsylvania has seen close to 192-point-three inches and could break that record if it gets eight more inches.
