Once again Buffalo shows its Polish Pride with some of the biggest Dyngus Day events in the country. Here's what you need to know:

The Dyngus Day Parade starts at 5 pm today in front of Corpus Christi Church and travels through the Historic Polonia District. Marchers will pass numerous Official Festival Halls including the Adam Mickiewicz Library, The Tyskie Party Tent and St. Stanislaus Church before concluding at Buffalo's Central Terminal. Look for Jack FM there, armed with Squirt Guns and Pussy Willows.  After the Parade, if you don't want to go to the terminal, there's a shuttle that lets you "party hop" throughout the neighborhood.

Another big event will be at the Millenium Hotel near the Airport. John Valby will make an appearance singing his Dyngus Day song, "Dyngus Day in Buffalo". The Polka Family Band will be there as well as Joe and the Schmoes.

You can bet many smaller events will be happening in the area too at your local VFW, or at your grandma's house, so throw on your best red t-shirt and get out tonight. Nobody celebrates Dyngus Day like Buffalo. What started in the 1860's at the Chopin Singing Society in Buffalo, has become another event that is original to the area. Most cities do not celebrate Dyngus Day. What can we say, just another excuse to party.
