Despite Ruff Start, Lindy Is Worthy

Just because the Sabres are stinking up the joint, doesn’t mean head coach Lindy Ruff doesn’t deserve to be inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame. He’s won nearly 500 games, coach of the year, taken the Sabres to the Cup finals, three conference finals, gave us a President’s trophy and division and conference title. He leads the list of 13 inductees including former Bills placekicker Steve Christie, who will be inducted tonight at ceremonies at the Hyatt. The Sabres are still seeking their first home win after getting trounced last night and try to do it tomorrow night against Montreal. Then it’s a Toronto weekend with the Sabres taking part in the Hall of Fame game in Toronto and the Bills playing at the skydome with newly acquired Linebacker Shawn Merriman.
