Def Leppard‘s 2012 trip around the globe is turning into a quasi hair band festival. Poison drummer has confirmed rumors started by lead singer Bret Michaels. The two bands will once again hit the road together this summer.

Previously, Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen had alluded that Twisted Sister and/or other bands included on the ‘Rock of Ages’ movie soundtrack would be joining them for a summer tour, that will include stops in America. “Nothing has been finalized yet, but apparently Poison will be joining us — at least according to Bret Michaels, who has been telling everyone that they’ll be touring with us this year,” he told AOL’s Noisecreep.

Poison drummer Rikki Rockett made it official on Sunday. “It’s Official!
Def Leppard / Poison Tour 2012 Summer Tour!” he wrote on his Facebook page. No dates have been announced. (Updated: we had some dates listed in the first posting of this article, but they are not accurate so we removed them.)

While Def Leppard will have a couple of new songs for their summer tour, it seems unlikely they’ll be promoting a new album. Collen suggested that could come in 2013, at the earliest.
