It turns out that Dave Grohl wasn't exaggerating when he said there's "pretty much an entire" new Foo Fighters record ready to record. That news, which came from the mouth of Dave last week, was an exciting surprise for Foo fans who were resigned to the idea that the band would be on an indefinite hiatus while Grohl focuses on his 'Sound City' movie, his supporting Sound City Players all-star band and whatever other activities keep the always-busy rocker busy.

But last night (Feb. 20) at the Brit Awards, Grohl went on the record to say that he's ready to get back to rocking with the Foo Fighters, and that a new album will be in the works as early as today. "I return to Los Angeles tomorrow to start work on a Foo Fighters record," Grohl told host James Corden. Then again, Foo followers shouldn't hold their breath waiting to hear the results, as Grohl would only say that the disc will surface "eventually."

Regardless of how long the thing takes, Grohl previously spoke of his "awesome plans" for the follow-up to 'Wasting Light,' and that makes it sound worth the wait. "We have a plan, we know exactly what's coming next and I have the music for the next record and we're going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff. We have really awesome, big plans for the next album and I'm really excited about it."

So are we, Dave. So are we.
