Exactly how did Dave Grohl recover from breaking his leg two songs into last night's Foo Fighters concert to come back and finish the show? With some help from Queen, AC/DC, the Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper, that's how!

Last night (June 12) in Gothenburg, Sweden, Grohl fell off the stage, and immediately and correctly diagnosed his injury. While he went backstage to get his leg set, drummer Taylor Hawkins was left in charge. After "Cold Day in the Sun," he and the rest of the Foos resorted to their occasional alter ego as a classic rock cover band. Hawkins took the lead on the Faces' "Stay With Me" and the the Queen and David Bowie duet, "Under Pressure."

It was during that song that Grohl surprised everyone by coming back out on to the stage on a stretcher. As you can see in the first video below, he sang and played guitar while an assistant held his leg in place, amazingly showing no loss of his trademark enthusiasm. After three Foo Fighters songs, including the hit "Learn to Fly," he left the stage again.

So what did the other Foos do? Returned to the classic rock, of course! The Stones' "Miss You" and another Queen song, "Tie Your Mother Down" (the second video below) got a workout. Then Grohl addressed the crowd, apologizing for getting "too excited" but saying that he's "lucky that I've got my band, so that when I break my f---ing leg they can still play music!"

As Grohl then introduced each of the other band members, they played snippets of Van Halen's "I'm the One," Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" and Alice Cooper's "School's Out." During Hawkins' intro, he copied Freddie Mercury's "Day-o" call-and-response. But before they could begin the next song, "Congregation," one of the band members spoke in praise of his bandmate.

"Is this the toughest motherf----er y'all ever met in your life? Most motherf---ers would break their leg, and walk offstage, get in their limo and go get a morphine shot, but not Dave Grohl. He's going to come up here, and he's going to play the f----ing show with his goddamn broken leg."

How badly was his leg broken? Check out the x-ray that they posted to Facebook below the videos. But not even that could stop Grohl, and towards the end of the set, one last cover showed why: AC/DC's "Let There Be Rock."
