The Counting Crows, along with The Wallflowers and Buffalo born and raised rocker Willie Nile, splashed across stage on Friday night at Canalside as thousands of fans braved the downpour and took the weather in stride.

Buffalo music fans proved years ago at the Goo Goo Dolls Fourth of July concert that a little rain can't scare them away, and a lot of rain can actually be a good time every now and then...provided you have enough music and beer to go around.

Although the Counting Crows took the stage a little late, due to the puddles being cleared from the stage, the crowd stayed and were treated to a great show. Crows frontman Adam Duritz walked on stage with an umbrella over his shoulder and fittingly opened the show with "The Rain King".
