Jack Taylor, a college basketball player from Grinnell College set a new record by scoring 138 points in one game yesterday. Prior to last night, Taylor's best game was 48 points, a full 90 less than he scored against Faith Baptist Bible's pourous defense.

Even NBA stars like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant were impressed with the division III players feat, tweeting out congratulations to the Pioneers star guard. The previous record of 113 points has stood since 1954 when Rio Grande's Bevo Francis scored at will against Hillsdale.

Taylor told the Today Show that the team was running a press defense and created 49 turnovers which led to more chances for him to shoot. Taylor had 58 points at halftime before "turning it up" in the second half.

Jack were glad for you. But at some point did you ever think about passing the ball? Taylor shot 108 times, 71 from three-point range. The rest of the team combined for just 41 points. Oh, and by the way Faith Baptist was no slouch either with David Larson putting up a paltry 70 points in the loss.
