Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal has become the second member of Guns N' Roses to leave the band this week. Bumblefoot had been in the band since 2006.

An unnamed "confirmed source with the band" told veteran music journalist Gary Graff that "Bumblefoot quit last year. I don't understand why he continues to be evasive on his status with the band -- he quit in South America. He told Axl he was done, and [Las] Vegas would be his last run with the band."

Yesterday, Bumblefoot was vague in an interview with Graff when asked about his status with the band. “That is the thing I am not to elaborate on," he said. "I think there’s enough clues out there for you to figure out what I’m up to now.” Those echoed his words from February, when he revealed that he was "honoring a request to not make any public statements about anything related to it, which continues to put me in a very awkward position that I don’t want to be in. Not how I do things, repeatedly taking the bullet on this one.”

He had been hinting that his commitment to Guns N' Roses often conflicted with his solo career. In 2013, he expressed frustration that he had to cancel existing shows because Guns N' Roses later booked for that same time period. He said if the band's management wasn't "willing to help me keep the two functioning well together, then I’m out.”

On Monday, DJ Ashba, who joined in 2009, left the band to devote his complete attention to Sixx:A.M., the group he's in with Nikki Sixx. This leaves Richard Fortus as the only guitarist in Guns N' Roses.

So what does this hold for the future of Guns N' Roses? Well, all it means is that there are now openings for two guitarists in the band. True, Slash recently said to "never say never" about the possibility of a reunion of their classic lineup, but as of now there is nothing to suggest that these recent shakeups pave the way for the former members to return.
