Once again the Buffalo Sabres managed to overcome a third period deficit, to win 4-3 in overtime and clinch a berth into the Stanley Cup playoffs for the second straigtht year. Nathan Gerbe tied the game on a nifty spin-o-rama, and Thomas Vanek overcame a charlie horse injury to notch the game winner on a breakaway in overtime. Ryan Miller played in relief of Jonas Enroth in the third to help give the Sabres a spark.

Even before the Sabres late game heroics, that sent the crowd into a frenzy emotions were high thanks to the introduction of nearly 80 Sabres alumni before the game. The most touching moment when Gilbert Perrault and Rick Martin carried out Rick Martin's Jersey with former coach Joe Crozier.

The Sabres play Columbus tomorrow to close out the season, and tickets go on sale at 9 am Monday for games three, four and possibly six at the HSBC arena. Who will the Sabres play? That still depends on tomorrow's games. The Sabres trail Montreal by one point and they play the Leafs tomorrow night. The Sabres can still finish as high as sixth place.
