Nickelback on Tour in Buffalo

Nickelback is currently on their "Get Rollin'" Tour with Brantley Gilbert and Josh Ross. It made a stop at Darien Lake Amphitheater on Wednesday, August 16. The show was sold out as fans from across the Western New York region and beyond came out for the huge cross-genre show that did not disappoint. It was big. It was fun. For one Western New York woman, it was the opportunity of a lifetime.

Buffalo, New York Singer Goes on Stage with Nickelback

Emily Rodreguez, who does by emrod online, is an aspiring singer and songwriter from Buffalo. She, along with dozens of others, entered a contest put on by 92.9 WBUF, BMG Records, and Nickelback to sing the hit song "Rockstar" on stage with the band during the show. While there were tons of great entries, Emily won the contest. She got to meet the band, was given premium seats, and then a little after 10 pm she went on stage and practically stole the show. While we don't have a professional video, we have several cell phone videos.

She did an amazing job in front of a sold-out crowd. Congrats to Emily and a big thanks to BMG and Nickelback for giving her the opportunity.

This was a fantastic show. Plenty of people have hated on Nickelback, which, as Chad Kroeger told us, stems from a comedian making a joke years ago and Comedy Central using it as a promo for 6 straight months. There's really no reason to hate on the band. They have hit after hit and played them all on Wednesday night. Some people said the only reason the show sold out was because of the country acts, but we can assure you they all stayed for Nickelback. It was a giant sea of people who were singing every Nickelback song loud and proud. At one point Brantley and Josh came out and performed with the band as well. It was truly a unique show with a combined rock and country crowd. We hope all 3 come back to WNY soon.

Speaking of karaoke and people covering songs, have you seen these rock bands cover these songs? It's pretty incredible.
