The future is now for the Buffalo Bills.  That's the way it appears after the Bills acquired star receiver Kelvin Benjamin from the Carolina Panthers just prior to Tuesday's 4 pm trade deadline.  In exchange the Bills send third round and seventh round 2018 draft picks to the Panthers.

Benjamin was a first round draft pick of the Panthers in 2013 (28th overall).  In his career he has 168 receptions for 2,424 yards and 18 touchdowns.  He made a big splash in his rookie year with 73 catches for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns.

In eight games so far this season he has 32 catches for 475 yards and two touchdowns.

In Benjamin, the Bills get the big receiver they've been looking for.  He's 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, a huge addition to the Bills receiving group.  Whether he'll play in Thursday night's game against the Jets remains to be seen but when he does play he has to be considered the team's number one receiver.

The Bills passing game currently ranks 29th in the NFL.  Benjamin gives the team a huge upgrade.
