Bon Jovi ‘Runaway’

In 1984, Jon Bongiovi was a young rocker looking for a big break.

He had won a local music contest on New York’s WAPP-FM, but the odds of having a real hit record where not in his favor.

Then, with the new MTV age, things started to change.

The band Bon Jovi was born and the first single off the debut release would be the same song that had received airplay via the local music competition.

Runaway was met with slow play on MTV at first, but at least it was a start.

Jon had the face for the video’s and the band had the chops.

It would be a few years and another album before the band would become the biggest selling rock band of the 80′s with ‘Slippery When Wet’.

Enjoy this cheesy classic.
