20 Beatles Songs Beatboxed in New One Minute Mash-Up Video

How many Beatles songs can be mashed-up in a one-minute span? That’s the question posed by musician Chad Neidt in a new video that features him and a beatboxing friend running through the group’s catalog at breakneck speed.

Apparently, the answer is 23. Beginning with the count-in of ‘Taxman,’ the duo then move on to snippets of ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ and 20 other Beatles classics before finishing with ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’ 60 seconds later. The songs aren’t performed chronologically, so ‘Come Together’ follows ‘Eight Days A Week,’ and ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ is just before the guitar melody of ‘Something.’

Although he takes liberties with many of the songs’ original keys (presumably either for better segues and/or his voice) and we could do without the human beatbox, which lost its novelty appeal around 1987, it’s nonetheless an impressive performance. It makes a nice companion piece to last year’s viral video of a guitar store employee playing 100 rock guitar riffs in 12 minutes.

Neidt has done these ‘One Minute Mash-Ups’ before. His YouTube channel reveals similar videos ranging from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Michael Jackson to ‘Songs that Repeat the Word ‘Baby.” He is also a songwriter with an album of his own work expecting to come out this spring.
