The tradition of new dads handing out cigars may be going the way of phone books and CDs, thanks to a growing fad.

A popular new trend has parents posting photos of their newborn babies on social media. And, as long as it feels like the mother is in labor, that’s how fast these pictures pop up online.

On average, two-thirds of parents post photos of their offspring just 58 minutes after their birth. Fifty-eight minutes! That’s quicker than an episode of ‘Breaking Bad.’

And where can you find these pictures? Facebook is far and away the most popular place, with 77% of parents going the Zuckerberg route. Instagram is next with 48% and Flickr follows suit at 32%.

Now, let’s get a survey going about the percentage of people who get annoyed with parents for sharing too many photos of their kids.
