Motley Crue kicked off their much-hyped residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas last night, two months after announcing it during an appearance on CNN’s ‘Piers Morgan Tonight.’ Sin City was so excited that yesterday was declared “Motley Crue Day” there, while fans likely from around the globe flooded into town for the kickoff of the stand, which will cover a dozen dates through Feb. 19.

Another day, another round of goodies for all you Van Halen fans out there! About nine days before the band’s ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ album hits stores, brief snippets of each and every track from the much-hyped comeback album have surfaced online. The clips, which feature the first 30 seconds of all 13 tracks included on ‘Truth,’ recently were posted on a Dutch website offering the two-disc deluxe edition of the album for sale in Europe.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, Doobie Brothers Set for 2012 Simple Man Cruise
Lynyrd Skynyrd have signed on host and curate the 2012 Simple Man Cruise, a floating rock ‘n’ roll party set for Oct. 27-31 on Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest luxury liner, the Pearl. The cruise, which sets sail from Miami, will feature about a dozen different bands rocking the ship, including Skynyrd, the Doobie Brothers and up-and-coming Southern rockers like Blackberry Smoke and the Dirty Guv’nahs.

Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Weston has died at the age of 64. His body was discovered Tuesday (Jan. 3) in his London home by police after a concerned call from neighbors. The causes of death were gastric intestinal hemorrhage, cirrhosis of the liver and throat problems, an autopsy has revealed.
