Rumors that former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder is rejoining the band are running rampant on the internet after a still of the keyboardist from their ‘Policy of Truth’ video was posted Thursday on the Mode’s Facebook page. The picture was accompanied by the line “Never again / Is what you swore,” which, of course, is from ‘Truth.’ The post has already racked up more than 45,000 “likes” from excited Facebook fans, although neither the band nor Wilder himself have commented one the matter. The whole thing is mere speculation could easily be nothing more than a big tease.
Did you know Coldplay‘s multi-platinum ‘Mylo Xyloto’ album is based on the story of a character the band created a few years back with help from Academy Award-nominated writer and director Mark Osborne (‘Kung Fu Panda,”The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie’)? The character of Mylo informed the album and the striking visuals Coldplay have used on tour — and now he’s at the center of a six-part comic book series, the first of which is being revealed at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con International.
A pair of new Green Day documentaries is being lined up for release to coincide with the band’s upcoming trio of albums, ‘¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!,’ and ‘¡Tre!’ One doc will focus on the making of the three discs, which will drop one at a time starting in September and wrapping in January 2013.

About nine days before the band’s ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ album hits stores, brief snippets of each and every track from the much-hyped comeback album have surfaced online. The clips, which feature the first 30 seconds of all 13 tracks included on ‘Truth,’ recently were posted on a Dutch website offering the two-disc deluxe edition of the album for sale in Europe.
Lynyrd Skynyrd have signed on host and curate the 2012 Simple Man Cruise, a floating rock ‘n’ roll party set for Oct. 27-31 on Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest luxury liner, the Pearl. The cruise, which sets sail from Miami, will feature about a dozen different bands rocking the ship, including Skynyrd, the Doobie Brothers and up-and-coming Southern rockers like Blackberry Smoke and the Dirty Guv’nahs.
