It's about the size of the Statue of Liberty and it will be flying past Earth soon. The asteroid, called "2010 WC9" is set to pass Earth today at about half the distance to the moon. Astronomers had picked up this asteroid in 2010 but then lost track of it until recently and now it's getting ready to pass closer than normal to us!

Do we need to call Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis?

No. We're going to be ok. While this doesn't happen often, this should pose no danger to us on earth.

How can I watch this asteroid "not really pose a threat to us on Earth?"

You can CLICK HERE or log on to Space.com for a live webcast that starts at 8pm ET.

Watch below for a webcast recorded last night about tonight's event!
