American Idiot Makes Buffalo Debut This September

Wake me Up when September begins, because there is finally a reason to go to the theater. The touring version of Green Day's American Idiot Rock Opera will be at UB's Center for the Arts on September 8 and 9 and tickets go on sale this Friday.

American Idiot was Green Day's Epic Masterpiece from 2004 that won the band several grammies and brought back the idea of concept albums.

"We always thought somehow there should be some kind of stage version, casue that's what we were thinking in our heads," Billy Joe told Armstrong said of the musical when it debuted on Broadway. The story follows the lead character "Jesus of Suburbia" in a post 911 world as he and his friends try to find their way.
