An amazing story happened this week: Yahoo.com reported about a puppy was euthanized, but somehow survived. It’s a miracle!

As an animal lover, I was so happy to hear this news. But, of course, I couldn’t help but think, are there still shelters euthanizing puppies and kittens? What happened to the No-Kill Movement?

I know locally, puppies – dogs even – are adopted quickly. When hurricane Katrina hit, Western New York was able to place orphaned dogs in homes at lightning speed. Plus, in this day and age, there are animal transporters to take unwanted dogs and cats to cities that can get the animals homes quickly. Recently, New York City received a bunch of unwanted Chihuahuas from California to place into loving homes. Kudos to you, NYC.

So, I ask the state of Oklahoma, what the heck? Get with the times, you murdering jerks.
