THE STERLING RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL 2010

The Sterling Renaissance Festival, in Sterling, New York, (situated approx. 40 miles North of Syracuse, near Lake Ontario), will be holding auditions for it's professional interactive improvisational troupe, known as “The Bless the Mark Players.”
The Festival is seeking 33 experienced male and female actors, age 18 to 50, to portray Elizabethan characters, and perform interactive improv & scenarios; Shakespeare; and Commedia Del'Arte plays, on period outdoor amphitheaters and throughout the lanes of the festival.
The contract commitment runs eleven weeks, from June 1st to August 15th. There are 4 weeks of intensive rehearsals, including workshops in improvisation and interactive theatre, and 7 performance weekends.
Performances are Saturdays and Sundays only from 10 AM to 7 PM, with additional rehearsals midweek.
Pay is $340 per performance week (for seven weeks) with a $300 rehearsal stipend ($100 per week for three weeks), full-time commitment required; housing provided.
Bring acting resume and an 8”x10” Black & White photo.
Strong improv and comic skills a must; prepare a one-minute comic monologue (contemporary or Renaissance period acceptable).
Dress comfortably, no heels.
Call-backs will be the same day; casting within two weeks of auditions.
Applicants must be over 18 years old to be considered. (Equity/Non-Equity).

Airport Plaza Jewelers Candy Sale to Benefit People Inc.
Airport Plaza Jewelers has teamed up with Fowler’s Chocolates to promote a special Easter Chocolate Fundraiser that will take place

March 17 to April 3 at the Cheektowaga jeweler’s new expansion store, “The Showroom,” in the Airport Plaza on Union Road.

100 percent of net proceeds will benefit People Inc., Western New York’s leading non-profit human services agency.

We are very excited about this fundraising event,” said Airport Plaza Jewelers owner Don Hoffman. “Especially because 100 percent of net proceeds will benefit the great work of People Inc. Two of my family members previously worked as direct care staff at People Inc.,” Hoffman continued, “So I have witnessed very closely the tremendous benefit their entire organization provides to thousands of people in Western New York. Along with Fowler’s Chocolates, we are very pleased to be honoring People Inc. and their ongoing efforts through this tremendous fundraiser.”

“We are going to transform our jewelry ‘Showroom’ into a giant candy store,” said Hoffman. “The Showroom” is located at 4230 Union Road, in the same plaza as the jeweler’s original kiosk store near the Union Road exit of Route 33. “We have plenty of parking in the Airport Plaza, so it will be a convenient location to make a very special purchase, and have fun doing it,” Hoffman added.
In addition to the delicious Fowler’s Chocolates, appearances by local celebrities, sports figures, public officials and special media events throughout the 18-day Easter Chocolate Fundraiser will make the Airport Plaza location an especially festive destination to make Easter candy purchases. Scheduled appearances to date include:

“Dora the Explorer” from Time Warner Cable will appear at “The Showroom” Saturday, March 20th from 11am-1pm

County Executive Chris Collins has confirmed an appearance from 3pm- 6pm Monday March 22nd

“The Enforcers” cable show featuring former Sabres star Rob Ray and former Bills lineman Reuben Brown will be filmed from The Showroom(Tentative Date is Tuesday March 23rd from 5:30pm-7pm

WYRK announcer John LaMond will be doing his entire Midday Show from The Showroom on Thursday, March 25 from 10am to 3pm

WJYE morning man Joe Chille will host a radio remote from The Showroom on Friday, March 26th from Noon to 2pm

Dr. James Boles, President and CEO of People, Inc., said “We sincerely appreciate the support our Western New York community is providing by purchasing Fowler’s Chocolates this special season at the Airport Plaza Jewelers store.
“Personally, I have the peanut butter rabbits at the top of my list,” he added. .
