Here is a great opportunity for you and your family to fill the freezer with locally raised meat! The hard workiing young men and women of the 4H in Western New York invite you to their annual market auctions and sales!!

It's county fair time and the kids have been working for months to raise quality beef, lamb, swine and poultry. The money that you spend on the animals goes back to the kids who use it for college funds, savings and future projects.

It is by far my favorite part of any fair. The roots and traditions of the agriculture community in Western New York run deep and are very much alive.

At the very least, I invite you to walk through the barns at this year's fair and see where you food comes from. In a world that changing quickly, one thing stands true...people need to eat and the 4H is the training ground for the future farmers and growers. The kids you meet are the next generation that will feed not only American, but the world.

The Allegany County 4H auction will be held July 19 at 5.

The Niagara County Fair 4H auction will be held on August 4th at 6pm.

The Cattaraugus County Fair is holding their 4H auction on Saturday August 5th at 1pm.

The Erie County 4H auction will be held during the Erie County Fair.

The Wyoming County Fair 4H auction will be held Wednesday August 16 at 5pm.

I think the Allegany County Fair describes the auction and what it is all about best:

We would like to invite you to participate in the annual Allegany County Ag Expo 4-H Livestock Sale at the Allegany County Fairgrounds.  This auction is the result of months of hard work for Allegany County 4-H club members. The livestock sale offers a unique opportunity for youth to market their animals and to then expand their future livestock projects or assist with future endeavors. In addition, it offers a wonderful opportunity to support the youth of our community.
